Linux Gateway

Runs under systemd and discovers supported network printers without requiring CUPS setup. Existing CUPS destinations are supported too, but are optional.

Desktop setup

  1. Install AppClickPrint Gateway on a computer that can reach the printers.
  2. In the customer setup flow, select Add Gateway and choose Windows or Linux.
  3. Windows can use the personalised installer; Linux accepts the temporary setup code.
  4. The gateway discovers supported network printers directly and also reports any installed Windows or CUPS queues it finds.

Two desktop printing paths

Driverless discovery by default

A supported network printer does not need to be installed in Windows or configured in CUPS. The gateway finds it on the local network, inspects its capabilities and reports it to the customer portal.

Installed queues are optional

When a site already relies on a Windows printer queue or Linux CUPS destination, the gateway reports that too and can print through its existing driver and media configuration.

Native and direct output

Raw ZPL and ESC/POS remain available for matching printers. Direct Brother QL-800-series, Zebra, Toshiba, Epson and TSC PDF jobs honour the saved image-quality setting and per-job photoMode override.

One integration across platforms

Your app provisions the same customer, retrieves the same printer schema and submits to the same print endpoint whether the site chooses Android, Windows or Linux.

Windows signing notice: this initial Windows desktop release is not yet Authenticode-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may ask you to confirm the publisher before installation.
