Samples PRINTING

Print sample and laboratory labels where samples are collected

Give collection, testing and tracking applications a direct path to the small label printer beside the operator, with the sample identifier created by your system.

AppClickPrint cloud print gateway

Use the gateway that fits each customer site

Your API integration stays the same. The customer can connect Android, Windows or Linux depending on the printers and computers already available at the site.

Android
AndroidQR setup, network, paired Bluetooth and USB discovery without a dedicated PC.
Windows
WindowsDiscovers supported network printers without installing them. Existing Windows queues are optional and discovered too.
Linux
LinuxDiscovers supported network printers without CUPS setup. Existing CUPS destinations are optional and discovered too.

THE PRINTING PROBLEM

Keep identity and printing in one controlled step

Sample labels are often small, data-dense and produced at the moment a container or test record is created. Downloading a document and manually choosing a printer separates the physical label from the application event that created the identifier.

AppClickPrint lets the authenticated backend submit the finished label to a printer already assigned to the collection point or laboratory area. It does not determine clinical content or compliance; those rules remain in the specialist application.

Sample container labels

Print a system-generated identifier, collection time, short description and barcode or QR code.

Batch and tray labels

Label groups of samples, racks, trays or test batches from the same workflow.

Chain-of-custody references

Print human-readable and machine-readable references that link the physical item back to the application record.

FROM APP ACTION TO PAPER

A workflow your application can own

Create the authoritative sample ID

The specialist application allocates the identifier and validates all required fields before printing.

Render for the approved template

Generate the label at the exact stock size with readable text and a barcode suited to the scanner workflow.

Submit from the trusted backend

Use the customer print key and the printer alias assigned to that location. Never put credentials in the mobile or browser client.

Record the job against the sample

Store the AppClickPrint job ID so operators can distinguish the original print from a deliberate reprint.

WEB, MOBILE AND AI-BUILT APPS

Works with the stack you already use

Sample-tracking tools made with FlutterFlow, Bubble, Lovable, Replit, WeWeb or custom mobile/web stacks can call an authenticated backend function that owns the AppClickPrint credentials.

Implementation checklist

Build printing as a tenant-safe backend capability, then expose simple controls in the customer-facing application.

  1. Treat the specialist application—not AppClickPrint—as the source of truth for sample identifiers and regulated label content.
  2. Test the smallest supported text and barcode size on the actual printer and media.
  3. Keep printer selection scoped to the organisation and collection location.
  4. Require a reason or permission for reprints if duplicate physical labels create operational risk.
  5. Use Standard image quality for crisp barcodes and text unless the label genuinely contains photographic content.
  6. Keep an audit link between the sample, template version, printer and AppClickPrint job ID.
Core integration pattern: provision the customer once, keep acm_ and acp_ keys on the trusted backend, provide permanent Add Gateway and Manage Gateways controls, let the user select an available printer, and submit jobs using its current alias.

Common questions

Does AppClickPrint generate sample identifiers?

No. Your application generates and validates the identifier and label content. AppClickPrint securely routes the finished PDF or supported native commands.

Can a tablet at a collection point print without a PC?

Yes. An Android device can act as the gateway and connect to supported network, paired Bluetooth or USB printers.

Can we use existing laboratory print queues?

Yes. Install the Windows or Linux gateway to expose compatible printers already installed on that computer.
