Visitors PRINTING

Print visitor and name badges from your sign-in application

Make badge printing part of check-in: the visitor signs in, the application creates the badge and the reception printer produces it without a separate desktop printing workflow.

AppClickPrint cloud print gateway

Use the gateway that fits each customer site

Your API integration stays the same. The customer can connect Android, Windows or Linux depending on the printers and computers already available at the site.

Android
AndroidQR setup, network, paired Bluetooth and USB discovery without a dedicated PC.
Windows
WindowsDiscovers supported network printers without installing them. Existing Windows queues are optional and discovered too.
Linux
LinuxDiscovers supported network printers without CUPS setup. Existing CUPS destinations are optional and discovered too.

THE PRINTING PROBLEM

Keep reception simple for staff and visitors

Visitor platforms often run on tablets or shared reception browsers, while the label printer is a separate local device. Requiring reception staff to download a badge, open a print dialog and correct the label size undermines an otherwise fast check-in experience.

AppClickPrint lets the host application provision each customer, guide an on-site user through gateway setup and retrieve printers for a one-time selection.

Visitor badges

Print the visitor name, host, organisation, visit date and sign-in reference.

Contractor identification

Produce a temporary badge linked to the contractor record and site workflow.

Event name tags

Print attendee names and QR codes at registration desks or self-service stations.

FROM APP ACTION TO PAPER

A workflow your application can own

The visitor completes sign-in

The visitor-management app validates required details and determines whether a badge is needed.

The app generates the badge

Render the final PDF at the exact stock size using the organisation’s approved fields and branding.

The backend sends it to reception

Use the printer alias selected for that site and a unique visit/badge version as the idempotency key.

Reception can recover locally

If a gateway is replaced, an authorised staff member can add another device and reselect the printer without exposing developer keys.

WEB, MOBILE AND AI-BUILT APPS

Works with the stack you already use

Visitor apps made with Lovable, FlutterFlow, Bubble, Replit, Base44, Bolt.new, v0 or custom web/mobile frameworks can embed Add Gateway, Manage Gateways and Select printer controls.

Implementation checklist

Build printing as a tenant-safe backend capability, then expose simple controls in the customer-facing application.

  1. Provision one AppClickPrint customer per customer organisation using the host app’s stable tenant ID.
  2. Keep Add Gateway and Manage Gateways available after initial setup so sites can add reception areas or replace devices.
  3. Generate the PDF page at the exact badge dimensions and use Standard mode for text and QR codes.
  4. Store printer ID and alias against the site or reception location.
  5. Poll setup status or use supported events, then refresh the printer list before selection.
  6. Treat reprints as explicit application actions and store the returned job ID.
Core integration pattern: provision the customer once, keep acm_ and acp_ keys on the trusted backend, provide permanent Add Gateway and Manage Gateways controls, let the user select an available printer, and submit jobs using its current alias.

Common questions

Can a receptionist set this up without IT?

Yes. Android setup uses a temporary QR code, while Windows offers a personalised installer. The portal guides the user through printer discovery and a test print.

Can a customer have several reception printers?

Yes. They can add multiple gateways and printers, and the host app can store a selection for each location.

Is there a real visitor-management example?

Yes. Read the ScanIn case study to see automatic customer provisioning and QR-based gateway setup for visitor badge printing.
